What would you pick? If I was to go brand new I'd get a Porsche 911 Carerra. If it was a vintage ride I'd have to go for an old Land Rover.

Depends, does free fuel for the life of the vehicle come with this?

Make your pick... good grief... don't tell me it's a Hummer though...

Oh heck no. It would be a F350, extended cab.

If I had to pick one for adventuring purposes, I'd look pretty close at one of the old Dodge Power Wagons.

They ain't much to see, but I hear they're pretty good and dependable.

I've always wanted a good Jeep Wrangler, hard top. So classic.

The four-doors that are this-year model look awesome!

Since I turn 16 tomorrow (and can thus take my written driver's test, garnering me a permit to drive), I'm getting my old red Dodge ready for some road action. Maybe I'll end up with a Wrangler for graduation...

Good. THey suck up so much gas and polute the air. I hate it when all these hunters and everything act so into protecting the enviroment then go out and buy a gas-guzzling hummer :x

Ugh, just wait. Around here there are several owned by what I can only assume are trophy wives.

There are at least a dozen in Waco, usually brightly colored (the Hummers, not the trophy wives - there are even more of those with even worse colors). It makes sense, I guess. Gotta have four-wheel drive to get across those vicious puddles.

I'd bet none of them have ever been off a paved road.

Be careful with the Wranglers, guys.

The problem with the newer Jeeps are the same things you all seem to like -

First - especially the 2007 4-door models and the unlimiteds, is that Daimer Chrysler keeps making the damn wheelbase longer. The appeal of the short wheelbase in addition to much tighter turns is that you tend to get over obstacles that other vehicles get hung up on.

Second - Any Jeep with a hardtop takes two people to remove and then you have to think about storing it. It is a great thing to have in the winter, but I would lean towards a SunRider . The rear side windows are unobstructed by the frame hardware unlike factory softtops and the front section folds down in seconds. A nice day in the spring or fall becomes a better one with the top down. If you plan on taking the Jeep off-roading, think about being miles from home with your hardtop in the garage and then the rain starts. :?

The newer Jeeps have also expanded their width. To me a 4-door Jeep is sacreligious anyways - and combined with the wider stance, you have a vehicle that looks a lot like the Hummer. I will stick with my '98 as long as I can.

I just lifted it 3" and put Mickey Thompson rims with BF Goodrich 33 X 12.50 A/T's. Next will be the regear from 3:73's to 4:56's and then a SYE/CV joint to gain back the clearance I lost when the transfer case was lowered. A winch and some wider fender flares and I am just about done...

My attraction to the 4-door is the Willys Jeep look, from WWII. Can't find those suckers anymore... bet gas mileage would be awful too...

I am still missing the comparison :?

WWII Willy:

2007 4-Door Wrangler:

They are not too hard to find on ebay , and with the popularity of the Jeep, restoration parts are pretty easy to find as well. Damn good prices on ebay, but these vehicles look really cool with the top down. To me. they look quite odd with the ragtop up.

I don't know... to each his own I guess. I just like the style of the 4-door. Maybe I was thinking about old Land Rovers instead of Willys jeeps.

Anyway, I just like the styling. I'm not saying I would go out and buy one right now, but I would take a hard look at them.
